Katarina Pejak is a singer/songwriter and piano player born in Belgrade, Serbia and currently based in Nashville, TN, USA. In her music, she melds genres of the American roots music, filtering them through her Balkan descent and a classical training. Katarina was trained in classical piano for ten years, before finally starting her studies in songwriting at Berklee College of Music in 2011; she graduated from Berklee in 2014. At Berklee, Katarina was awarded the Songwriting Achievement Award.
Throughout her career so far, Katarina has performed with blues stars Ronnie Earl and Ana Popovic. She taught songwriting as a mentor at Berklee's Songwriting Week (2015). Her performances include concerts throughout Serbia, Hungary, UK(London at LSE and St.Al bans) and the US(New Hampshire, Boston, MA, Rhode Island, New Orleans, Nashville, TN, Alabama, Mississippi). She has put out three albums so far: Perfume & Luck (2010), First Hand Stories (2012) and Old, New, Borrowed and Blues (2016).
Katarina is currently involved in two projects, one of which is her own band KATARINA PEJAK BAND and the other is a Nashville-based organ combo that consists of violin, guitar, organ and drums. Katarina is the author of film scores for 3 documentary films.
